A study undertaken by scientists at the University of Maryland, USA and VU University Amsterdam, Holland have found after assessing 7 acupuncture trials, involving 1,366 women, that when IVF was combined with Acupuncture that 65 per cent more likely to become pregnant. In the research by Paulus et al, women who had received acupuncture pre and post embryo transfer had a success rate for IVF of 42.5% compared to 26.3% in the control group. These results have been duplicated with similar results in other parts of the West.

Acupuncture can help by:

Of the different research undertaken into acupuncture during IVF some of the studies followed up beyond 12 weeks to measure what they call ongoing pregnancy and rates being 26-40% with acupuncture and 14-25% in the control group.
